    Your vlog is very professional due to you always looking at the camera and speaking very clearly. How are you going to include Crystal's process into your final piece?

      Thankyou, Sadie. In my final piece, I would like to portray an important message similar to Crystal Pite. I will also thoroughly listen to my music in order to pick out highlights which I can then reflect in my choreography.

    This is a really strong vlog with detailed discussions and excellent points made, well done! You have also clearly referenced where each comment you used came from meaning the audience can clearly see where you have got your information from and what research you have done. In your vlog you stated that you were drawn to Pite's devotion to her pieces. What drew you particularly to this aspect and why?

      Thankyou Storm. I was drawn to this because it shows her full commitment to her work, almost as if part of herself is within what she creates, rather than it being two seperate things. This ability to be full emerged in what she is creating is very inspiring to me.

      I would have liked to have found out how Crystal Pite reignites her inspiration when she feels she has reached a creative block in her choreography or when she is struggling to generate movement whilst maintaining a focus on the message she is portraying. It would have helped me during this process to have some quick exercises or techniques to use in moments where I felt stuck on what to do next.

    this is a really good vlog in which you show great confidence throughout. Well done Daisy. I can clearly see that you have gone into a lot of research relating to your chosen practitioner and you explain about your feelings and thoughts upon Pite giving your own opinions
    What made you choose Pite over the other choreographers?
    I loved hearing about what you had to discuss within the professional vlog.

      Thankyou for your comment Bella. I chose Crystal Pite because I felt that I related to her choreographic intentions the most and I was intrigued by her use of a powerful message/serious issue as her main inspiration. I felt like this was something that I wanted to do with the piece that I created, to give my movements a strong purpose behind them. I also loved her unique and breathtaking neoclassical style and I was excited at the thought of exploring this in my own work.

In today’s lesson we researched two other key practitioners - Wayne McGregor and Crystal Pite. We analysed videos showing their choreographic processes (Rehearsing Genus), (Can art affect change?) and this inspired us to try another creative task using their methods. I was particularly inspired by their attention to detail throughout their choreography and the intense and thorough thought process behind each of the movements that they created.  In this task we had to recreate the movement of rain on a window. When watching the video of this, we considered how a singular rain droplet would move, any sudden changes in speed as a raindrop ran down the window, or the patterns created when different raindrops connected with each other. week twelve, final performance evaluation

At the start of this process, I set out to create a powerful and emotive piece based around Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), looking at the feelings created for the affected person due to the symptoms that they have to face. I believe that I achieved my aim of showing feelings of security contrasted with uncertainty and desperation for stability, as each of my movements were created with these feelings in mind. In my final performance, I challenged myself with my projection of emotions, as I attempted to show much more distress and confusion through my expression, which hopefully helped to convey my message to the audience in an engaging way. Although I became lost at what came next at one stage of my choreography, I was proud that I managed to pick it up again and confidently continued with my solo.
